When Hollywood wants a good plot, they turn to good books. When I want a good book, I turn to the library. Here are a few forthcoming films that are based on books that you can get at the library.
August: The Help, by Katherine Stockett (Estel just told you about that one.)
September: I Don’t Know How She Does It, by Allison Pearson.
November: Breaking Dawn, by Stephenie Meyer; Hugo (The Invention of Hugo Cabret), by Brian Selznick; Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, by John Le Carre; Puss in Boots, by Charles Perrault (I don’t think the movie will be very much like the book, but every kid should meet the original Puss in Boots. Plus I like Antonio Banderas.)
December: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, by Stieg Larsson; Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, by Jonathan Safran Foer; War Horse, by Michael Morpurgo; We Bought a Zoo, by Benjamin Mee (get the audiobook at Library To Go).
And coming up in 2012: The Hunger Games, The Great Gatsby, The Borrowers, and The Lorax!
Get all these books and more at the Orland Free Library, then go enjoy a movie.
