The Orland Free Library will be holding a series of weekly video production workshops aimed specifically at teens on Thursdays beginning January 10th. These workshops are here to help you learn what you’ll need in order for you to create your submission for the Glenn Interscholastic Film Festival (GIFF)! For those unaware, GIFF is “a countywide event that provides an opportunity for K-12 students to demonstrate learning in a 21st century context and showcase their work in front of a community audience.” Students will either work in groups or alone to craft three-minute videos that visualize the theme of “Participate.” The weekly workshops will cover the topics of camera basics, video editing, green screens, and will include an open lab for further individualized help.
Participants must be twelve or older to attend, and they must have signed a waiver and have a library card before they can check out equipment. Equipment will be available for check out after the Thursday workshop, and they must be returned by Wednesday of the next week. For more information call Jake at 865-1640.
