Did you read any good books this summer? These kids did! Every star on the board is a Summer 2012 Super Reader. 339 children and 39 teens registered this summer for the Summer Reading Club. Over 60 kids filled up their reading logs and completed the challenge. Prizes were won, “gold” medals were handed out, and stars were posted.
Teens were entered in a prize drawing and 13 of them won fun items like gift certificates to Barnes & Noble, books, flash drives, and flashlights. Pizza coupons too.
The Summer Reading Program was a great success at the Orland Library. Let’s top it off with the 29th Annual Ice Cream Social in Library Park this Sunday the 26th from 5 to 8 p.m. Come celebrate the library and summer reading!
Posted by Nancy, who read lots of good books this summer, including The Fault in our Stars, by John Green, and Ivanhoe, by Sir Walter Scott.
