Elsa Mora is illustrating a book called Fables de la Fontaine with the most amazing papercut art.
She has documented the process on her blog and it is fascinating to read about how the book has come together (including “before and after” images that show changes suggested by the editor). She even includes technical info about how she constructs her artwork.
I can’t wait to add this book to the library’s collection!
Her other artwork is gorgeous also.

Her paintings have a Cirque Du Soleil quality to them, elegant whimsy. I have a friend who draws very much like she does. It’s amazing to see how they can put such strangely wonderful visions on a two-dimension surface!
