Friends of the Orland Free Library

The Friends of the Orland Free Library volunteer to sell discarded or duplicate items in book sales held throughout the year. All proceeds go to library programs and materials.

Meetings take place on the 1st Thursday of every other month, on odd numbered months, at 10 am in the Community Room and are open to the public.

Our History

In 1918, The Orland Women’s Improvement Club accepted Carnegie funds of $8000 to build a permanent library. The Orland Carnegie library building, and library park, was opened in 1920 in the full city block which used to be the Pabst Flour Mill.

As our library grew, a larger space was constructed adjacent to it in 1971. Our original Carnegie building now serves as the Community Center which also hosts City Council meetings.

Resources

From books to videos to laptops, we have everything you need to learn and grow.
