Because if you haven’t this would be the perfect time to visit. Beth Bjorklund and Emanuel Skarlotos are exhibiting their gorgeous paintings from now until Oct. 23rd. The Orland Art Commission has opened their new gallery at 732 Fourth St. on the lower floor of the Orland Masonic Laurel Lodge Building and it is a truly amazing space.
There is a good article about the show in the Orland Press Register- you can read it here and here are a couple of quotes from the article by Rick Longley:
Skarlotos has 25 to 30 paintings in the show that include scenes from the Aegean Sea in Greece to Moss Landing and Monterey Bay. He also features pastorals of local foothills from the Elk Creek area and the east near Chico.
Bjorklund describes [her paintings] as “realistic fruits, vegetables and flowers” that include onions, pears, artichokes, strawberries and more.
You can also find many great art related books at the Orland Free Library, everything from instructional texts to art appreciation.
