Last Wednesday I went to the a special showing of the musical Les Miserables. It was a special event celebrating the 25th anniversary. It was really awesome. It is based on the book by Victor Hugo [available at the Orland Free Library]. While I was there I noticed a few dozen people in a line of sorts. They had all kinds of things with them, sleeping bags, pillows, folding chairs. It was the line for the first installment of The Deathly Hallows [book 7 of the J.K. Rowling series, also available at the Orland Free Library]. I think you would have to live under a rock or on another planet not to know this was coming out. I wouldn’t know what it would take for me to camp out for a movie. I am a huge movie buff, but still! I have yet to see this installment but I know I soon will, even if it is getting mixed reviews. If you have not visited the wizarding world of Harry Potter you really are missing out. They are really good stories, with great characters. I would recommend both the movies and the books.
I am a little bummed though that they made the last book two installments. I hate having to wait for the climax [grrr!]. Also soon up [December 10th] is The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The third installment in The Chronicles of Narnia. I am super psyched for that as well. I know that I am thankful that they are making one of my favorite childhood series into movies. Anyway there are plenty of things to offer here at the Library. I also need to take this moment to wish everybody out there a wonderful Thanksgiving.
