It is quite challenging to come up with an inspiration for my weekly blog. I came across this idea from scouring the good old WWW [World Wide Web] not to be confused with the WWF [World Wrestling Federation], which I am sure would present its own challenges.
Anyway thanks to Brain Candy I found this : If you could bring one character to life from your favorite book, who would it be? OOOH that really gives you something to think about. I love books I’ve read virtually dozens of them.
So who do I pick..I love the Chronicles of Narnia, should it be Aslan? Then again I love To Kill a Mockingbird, so would it be Scout, Jem, or Atticus [I have to admit Boo is still a little scary to me]. I really should pick someone from the Bible {What would Jesus do?} it really should be Jesus. Hopefully though, I’ll see Him later. Anyway does he count as a character? My, this post has now gone into the philosophical.
Okay, getting back to my main theme I know I wouldn’t choose Scarlett O’Hara. Because I would have to slap her! Imagine choosing Ashley over Rhett [Or in my mind Leslie Howard over Clark Gable. That would never happen!!]. She was a strong woman and all, but please! Well really, it might be Merlin [from countless books], then that leads me to think of Gandalf. Now my head is spinning! I know for sure it wouldn’t be Hannibal Lecter [though I find him fascinating]. Maybe Clarice Starling, now there is one smart, gutsy woman.
I do believe that this question is just too hard! I do know that many of my favorite heroines would be in the mix..Jo March, Meg Murry {Little Women and A Wrinkle in Time respectively}. Of course there’s always Dorothy [and Toto too]. Well hopefully this has given you some food for thought. As for me, I just can’t decide, I’m sure there’s someone scathingly brilliant that I’m forgetting about. I really have to say that I do believe I would have to go with another one of my “heroines’ Francie Nolan from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Because she is smart, and she has an amazing amount of heart. I love that girl!
So, who would you choose? Let me know.

Atticus Finch jumped in my mind when I read the title of your blog. But then again I feel that he all ready came to life with the wonderful job that Gregory Peck did in portraying him.
How about one of the rabbits in Watershipdown? Or the Cricket in Times square. But if that happened I would feel that I was in a disney movie.
Hmm, something to think about and perhaps discuss around the dinner table. Great blog
