Well as of this writing, it is December 11th. Almost half of December is past and it is so difficult to believe. Christmas is just around the corner. I have my own set of little traditions I do at Christmas time. It usually kicks off around Thanksgiving with Miracle on 34th Street -the original, with Maureen O’Hara, John Payne, Edmund Gwynn and Natalie Wood. Christmas just isn’t Christmas without the right books, movies and music. Every Christmas I read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The best stories are about redemption! I always read the beginning of Little Women too. Last year seemed incomplete because I didn’t really get a chance to sit down and watch It’s a Wonderful Life. I plan to rectify that this year! Another tradition, [for me] is watching Meet Me in St. Louis, The Homecoming, The House without a Christmas Tree and reading A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote. If you have never read A Christmas Memory you should really do so. I think you will find it very moving. Another book I read a few years ago that I would like to recommend is Fannie Flagg’s The Redbird Christmas. So what are you’re favorite traditions?
